Mindfulness Practice in Medicine
what does this course cover?
Stress is a constant in NHS work, and the offer is usually a wellbeing email with a link in it. There is an evidence based way to manage stress. Almost nobody is shown it.
Based on Jon Kabat-Zinn’s MBSR programme, this course gives you hands on mindfulness techniques built specifically for the realities of working in the NHS.
Learning outcomes:
- Learn evidence based mindfulness techniques from the MBSR programme developed at Harvard.
- Practise guided meditation and mindful communication relevant to your daily work.
- Apply stress management strategies tailored to the realities of the NHS.
- Understand how mindfulness based approaches compare with traditional CBT.
- Build a sustainable, practical approach to coping with stress in your role.
