what does this course cover?

This experiential course, based on the evidence-based MBSR programme developed by Prof Jon Kabat-Zinn at Harvard, offers an immersive exploration of mindfulness techniques. Participants will engage in interactive group work, practical exercises, and discussions tailored to the realities of working in the NHS, with an emphasis on integrating mindfulness into daily practice.

 

Through guided meditation, mindful communication, and stress management strategies, participants will gain hands-on experience and practical skills to apply mindfulness in both their professional and personal lives. The course highlights recent research suggesting that mindfulness-based cognitive therapy (MBCT) can be more effective and cost-efficient compared to traditional CBT.
