AI in the Training Environment: A Practical Session for Supervisors
what does this course cover?
Your residents are already using AI. In their clinical work, in their portfolios, in their specialty applications. The question is no longer whether this is happening, it is whether you know enough to supervise it safely.
Three hours to get you there, with the JRCPTB position, the portfolio questions and the practical judgement calls.
Learning outcomes:
- Recognise how resident doctors are using AI in clinical practice, and identify where it adds value and where it creates risk.
- Guide residents on AI in ePortfolios, specialty applications and reflective logs, drawing on the current JRCPTB position.
- Spot AI generated portfolio entries, know what your responsibilities are as a supervisor, and know when to act.
- Advise residents on appropriate use of AI in presentations, correspondence, manuscripts and everyday professional communication with colleagues.
- Build your own AI skills and use them to strengthen your teaching, your feedback and your educational practice.
