Mentorship Mastery: Three-Day Mentor Programme
what does this course cover?
You are probably already mentoring someone, without stepping back to examine what makes it work. Most mentoring in medicine is built on instinct, squeezed into corridors between clinical demands.
Across three days you will build a genuine mentoring practice, tested through real relationships in action learning sets with experienced faculty, not just theory.
Learning outcomes:
- Build and sustain a mentoring relationship that holds over months, using models tested in real practice.
- Apply core mentoring competencies including contracting, goal setting and boundaries to keep relationships purposeful and safe.
- Use action learning sets to work through live mentoring challenges with peers before your next session.
- Reflect honestly on your own practice, identifying where you default to advice rather than genuine development.
- Refine a mentoring style that fits your own role, drawing on faculty experience and peer learning.
