Senior Faculty - Learning Environment and Cultural Competence
what does this course cover?
The learning environment in your institution and its cultural competence do not improve on their own, and senior faculty rarely get structured time to work out what needs to change.
A SWOT based approach to your own training environment, alongside practical strategies for inclusion and differential attainment.
Learning outcomes:
- Conduct a SWOT analysis of your own training environment to identify key improvement areas.
- Develop strategies to create an inclusive and supportive learning environment for all trainees.
- Understand the causes of differential attainment across individual, institutional and systemic levels.
- Raise awareness of cultural differences and their effect on behaviour, performance and learning.
- Lead colleagues towards culturally aware practice, and hold the conversation when behaviour needs to change.
