Personal Finance and Pension Workshop
what does this course cover?
Your NHS pension is probably your largest asset after your house, and most doctors understand it least at the point it matters most. Annual allowance charges arrive unexplained, and the schemes changed underneath you.
Three hours to understand what you actually have, what it will pay, and which decisions are worth making now.
Learning outcomes:
- Explain how the 1995, 2008 and 2015 schemes fit together, and which part of your own service sits in each.
- Read your annual pension statement and total reward statement, and know what the numbers on them mean.
- Recognise when an annual allowance charge is likely to affect you, and what your realistic options are.
- Model what retiring at different ages does to your pension, so the decision becomes arithmetic rather than guesswork.
- Set your pension alongside the wider picture of savings, protection and provision for your family, and know which decisions need regulated advice.
