Advanced Communication Skills Masterclass – Modelling Professional Behaviours
what does this course cover?
A colleague raises their voice in front of the team, a family accuses you of not listening, a junior misses the same point twice. Everyone watches how you handle it.
Six hours with a senior trainer and medical education actors, working through frameworks for the conversations that go wrong, active listening, constructive feedback and the behaviours that hold respect in a team.
Learning outcomes:
- Name the barriers that derail communication under pressure, from time and hierarchy to assumption, and spot them while a conversation is still recoverable.
- Apply communication frameworks to conflict, complaints and the conversations you would rather postpone.
- Practise active listening, questioning and reframing, and receive developmental feedback without defending your position.
- Model behaviours that hold respect and protect wellbeing when the team is stretched and the situation has no clean answer.
- Build an individual plan to carry new behaviours into everyday practice, tested with medical education actors first.
