what does this course cover?
A doctor involved in a clinical incident is waiting outside your office, and needs you to know what to say. Nobody has shown you how to hold that conversation, or how to guide a reflective account safely.
This session gives you the confidence and practical tools to support trainees through incidents, understand the human factors behind them, and protect both safety and learning.
Learning outcomes:
- Gain confidence in supporting trainees involved in clinical incidents from the first conversation onward.
- Facilitate reflective practice discussions and guide trainees in documenting their reflections safely.
- Identify common human factors and non technical skills relevant to your clinical context.
- Understand how internal and external factors can negatively impact performance in high risk periods.
- Apply this knowledge to enhance safety and effectiveness in everyday clinical practice.
